Echoes from a forgotten land

The BhuMeJha Project

‘A connection across lands, A symposium of cultures’

21 & 22, February, 2026 | Art Sanctuary | 1 Cockram Road, Kelmscott

Not just a performance. An expression. An expression that reflects upon a bond that transcends time and goes beyond land. The BhuMeJha Project is an ongoing pursuit for connection between the ancient cultures of Gondwanaland.

Arrive anytime from 5pm to simply appreciate nature and the beauty of this land, Noongar Bhoodjar. Immerse in the sounds of India’s Vedic mantras as you partake in a smoking ceremony with Noongar elder, Uncle Noel Nannup. A moment to align and to arrive into the present.

From here you transition to a performance space, an amphitheatre beneath the trees next to a gently flowing stream. A dance, music and storytelling performance begins at 630pm featuring celebrated Yolngu songman from Arnhem Land Daniel Wilfred, Indian Classical musician Hariraam Lam, Malaysian Mak Yong artist Mohammad Hisharudy together with the beautiful dancers from Borloo's very own Saraswati Mahavidhyalaya. This hour-long experience occurs as the sun sets and reflects upon stories of the Derbarl Yerrigan (The River Swan) and the River Ganges in India, invoking the healing energy of water and flowing rivers.

Sought after Perth born electronic music DJ, Maya, then welcomes us into a space of celebration. Maya will keep the night alive as we drop into a relaxing corroboree under the stars, on Noongar Bhoodjar. Food and refreshments curated to celebrate the coming together of communities will be shared as we pursue the possibility of an experience like never before.

We welcome you to The BhuMeJha Tribe.

Kaya. Hari Om.
